Following some great feedback about our “Dates for your Calendar” feature back in April, we have put together another great selection of upcoming events for May to help you enjoy the great outdoors. Explore the local area with friends at each of our four campuses across the country while the sun is shining and the weather is warming up.
Newark, New Jersey – Cinco De Mayo on Staten Island
If you haven’t already had the opportunity to hop on the ferry to Staten Island, May is the month to do so! Take advantage of the beautiful open spaces the island has to offer and a wonderful variety of tourist attractions including the Staten Island Museum, National Lighthouse Museum and the Staten Island Zoo.
May is also a great time to visit Staten Island with Cinco De Mayo falling on a Saturday and Mexican celebrations taking place across the island. It’s the perfect excuse to enjoy some Mexican food & drink, while experiencing the vibrant Mexican culture.

Long Branch, New Jersey – Beach Walk along Sandy Hook Bay
One of the best things about studying at our Long Branch campus is the great choice of beaches to enjoy right on your doorstep. This May, why not travel a little further to Sandy Hook Bay where you can enjoy a guided beach walk along the bay.
You will be joined by one of the of the Monmouth County Park System Naturalists who will take you the length of the bay searching for shells and other treasures washed up on the shore.

Orlando, Florida – Orlando Fringe Festival
Enjoy an array of creative experiences in and around Loch Haven Park in Orlando for 13 days this May at the 27th Annual Orlando Fringe Theatre Festival.
Inspired by the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, The Orlando Fringe Festival is officially the longest running US Fringe, bringing together the local community in a celebration of theatre and performing arts.
Widely known as “the premier springtime cultural event in Central Florida”, you can expect to see a diverse range of performing arts at the festival including comedy, musicals, cabaret, and much more!

Los Angeles, California – EEEEEATSCON Food Festival
If you consider yourself a serious foodie then the EEEEEATSCON Food Festival is going to be right up your alley this May.
This one-day, one-of-a-kind food experience combines mouth-watering food and entertainment with live music and inspiring panels from thought leaders!
With over 20 restaurants from LA and across the country taking part in the festival, the EEEEEATSCON Food Festival brings together every type of cuisine you can think of, making it an exciting and tasty day out to remember.
