The HEI was founded in October of 1999 in New Jersey by the President and CEO Jerry Docarmo. It started as a small school with four classrooms, that today has grown to four campuses in three states: two in New Jersey, one in Orlando, Florida, and the newest addition in Los Angeles, California.
The Institute became DHLS licensed in 2001 to issue I-20’s for students that desire to learn English in the USA. In 2004, the Institute started what would become an absolute success, the “Harvest International Festival”, where students recreate countries inside of the classrooms and celebrate their culture and history with music, dance, displays, and typical food from their countries. This year the Festival will be celebrated on October 25th– Don’t miss it!
In 2014, the Institute received national recognition and accreditation by CEA (Commission on English Language Accreditation), which is recognized by the Department of Education.
What made the Institute a success?
Its commitment to excellent education, a true dedication to the well-being of the students, providing them with a core program, electives, such as conversation, pronunciation, English for acting, writing, and a cultural immersion classes every day, so students can better assimilate into the American culture and way of life.
The Institute is also the recipient of several awards and this year received the prestigious “Focus” Business of the year award for the Orlando Campus.
With over 900 students from 65 different countries in its program in 2018, the Institute celebrates its 19th year.
“It has been exciting and rewarding to be able to change lives,”says the CEO.
The institute is proud of having had over 20,000 students in these 19 years. Those were 20,000 lives changed forever for the better!
