Make sure to have a good plan
The thing you should do is to ensure that everything will work as expected is to be honest with yourself and set realistic goals. You need to have a real plan of your studies.
For that, you should ask yourself:
- How was your progress leading up to the end of past year?
- How long do intend to rest during the break?
- Are you going to travel during this time?
Knowing the answer to these questions, will lead you to be able to organize and control your time and productivity during your break.
Define and set up your study times
To study for hours and hours during your vacation may not be the best choice.
It is best to have a schedule, defining when and what you need to study. You could, for example, choose a period per day either in the mornings or evenings, whatever works better for you and your plans. This way, you can get organized and still have time to do everything else that you may have planned as well.
Choose the contents and subjects that most interest you
When you start planning, choose the topics that have the highest relevance for you. Review the important information and find ways to perfect your knowledge. Taking notes and summarizing what you have learned is a good start.
Read books with distinct themes
Reading is an activity that will help you immensely in reaching your learning goals throughout the year. When planning your vacations, try to incorporate readings that interests you outside of the school materials. You could choose science fiction, novels, biographies, and so much more that could catch your attention and help you to improve your English skills.
Afterall, it’s always possible to learn something new when you open a book.
Unplug from your studies when you are relaxing
Spending time with family and friends is crucial and special. During these times, we must dedicate our full attention to the people that matter in our lives. It is also the time where we will recharge from the last semester.
This way, respect your studying plan and keep your schedule for each activity, and if you need, review your routine, and adjust it to fit your needs, without losing focus on what you must do. Nevertheless, stay active and remember to spend good quality time with family, friends, and loved ones.
