As the warm weather continues and tourist season gets in full swing, now is the perfect time to plan some summer activities to keep you busy in between your studies. Some of you will already know but the 4th of July is just around the corner, when the United States celebrates Independence Day.
When you are not a local, we know how hard it can be knowing which events are the ones you shouldn’t miss when celebrating a federal holiday. That’s why the team at Harvest English Institute have done the leg work for you and compiled a list of the top 4th July celebrations to attend in all four of our campus home-towns.
Newark, New Jersey – Essex County Summer Music Concert & Fireworks
Enjoy an evening of live music in the glorious setting of the historic Weequahic Park. With a diverse range of performers as part of the line-up you can dance the night away or snuggle up with a blanket and enjoy the firework finale at the end of the night!

Long Branch, New Jersey – Oceanfest
Officially the biggest Independence Day Celebrations in New Jersey. Combining great food, spectacular music and much more. Topped off with a mesmerizing firework display, Oceanfest is the place to be this 4th July.

Orlando, Florida – Fireworks at the Fountain
If it’s fireworks you are after this 4th July, this is the event for you. Every Independence Day, thousands of Orlando residents gather for a fabulous firework display and laser show in the brilliant setting of Lake Eola Park.

Los Angeles, California – Pacific Palisades Fourth of July Parade
Soak up the sun whilst enjoying this traditional neighbourhood marching parade. If you want to continue the celebrations into evening enjoy a brilliant concert and firework display to celebrate this year’s 4th July celebrations.
